BIOGRAPHY
My name is Loris Barberio, I am 31 years old and I was born on September 15th in Colmar, in the Haut-Rhin region. Today, I am a professional boxer, but above all, a passionate, relentless, and lifelong lover of this sport. I train every day in our family club in Soultz, which I run alongside my father, who was himself a former boxer and then a coach. He is the one who passed on to me the passion for boxing, which now runs through my veins.
I started very young, with educational boxing, and had my first bout at 5 years old. In total, I had 40 bouts before becoming an amateur boxer at 16. I then fought 60 fights, with about forty wins. I was several times regional and interregional champion, twice semi-finalist at the French amateur championships, and finalist of the Haringey Box Cup in London, the biggest tournament in Europe.
I had the chance to box in iconic places, notably at Gleason’s Gym in New York, and to participate in international matches where I faced boxers and exchanged with champions from Switzerland, Italy, Germany, England… These experiences helped me grow, both as a person and as an athlete.
At 24, I turned professional. To date, I have fought 21 pro fights, with 14 wins, including several abroad: in the United States (Texas), Holland, Thailand, and Switzerland. I have been French runner-up twice, and although the path hasn’t always been easy, I am proud of my journey.
Like every high-level athlete, I have known difficult times. I have sometimes taken boxing lightly, neglected my preparation, or accepted fights at the last minute without having time to properly prepare. I have faced unfair refereeing, suffered long-lasting injuries, and dealt with doubts and defeats. This sport is tough, both physically and mentally, and sometimes you have to fight as much outside the ring as inside: against jealousy, bad influences, and malicious interests.
But boxing has also given me moments of grace: great victories, rewards for my work, the pride of achieving my goals, and above all, the precious support of my family, friends, and sponsors, without whom I couldn’t go this far. I sincerely thank them. They are part of my success.
Outside the ring, I am passionate about other sports: weight training, football, swimming. I also enjoy spending time with my dogs, and I volunteer in animal welfare organizations, a commitment that is close to my heart. I love traveling, discovering the world, and especially spending time with my family, my pillar.
Less than a year ago, an important turning point happened in my career: I joined Tunal Academy, a management and promotion structure for boxers that I discovered through social media. After several months of exchanges, I decided to trust them, and today I work with them in a true relationship of trust and clear goals.
Our first meeting was in Bangkok, and from the very first moments, the feeling was right. I felt like I had been their boxer for years as they took such good care of me. Since then, I feel lighter, better supported, more focused on my goals, and less worried about organizing my fights. The Tunal Academy team supports me before, during, and after each fight, and it changes everything.
Since our collaboration, I have fought 2 fights, 2 wins by KO. A positive momentum is underway.
Today, my goals are clear: to keep rising in level, to progress, to face increasingly tough opponents, and to open my career even more internationally, both to fight and to prepare my matches in the best conditions.
I want to fully live from boxing, my profession, my passion. And one day, I want to pass on everything I have learned by opening my own gym, to train the next generation.
Because for me, boxing is not just a sport:
it is a vocation, a school of life, a way to fight for who I am. Boxing is in my blood.
